Welcome to AfterDBT!
You have arrived at the official site for the AfterDBT Forum, an independent project initiated and completed mostly by former clients of The Ebright Foundation in Wilmington, DE.
This forum is restricted to individuals who have completed stage one of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Its purpose is to enable maintenance and refinement of DBT skillfulness through an online peer support community. Individuals can join when (a) their initial contract period of DBT has been completed, and (b) the wise minds of both an individual and his/ her therapist agree that AfterDBT is appropriate.
AfterDBT is not a substitute for therapy. It is a skills discussion community with the primary purpose of peers helping peers. Although Ebright staff may occasionally post, crisis counseling is not offered here, and no professional therapist will monitor this site. Furthermore, discussion of target behaviors with peers may be harmful to one another, so its best to stay focused on skills, skills, and more skills. If you require professional assistance, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-877-273-TALK), Northern Delaware Crisis Intervention (1-800-652-2929), or your therapist.
We also urge members to respect each other’s confidentiality, just as we would in skills group. The privacy settings are set to be as secure as possible, and we ask that no one shares what anyone else posts on this board with anyone not on this board. Some threat of third party breaches exist on any online medium, so be smart in your supportive, vulnerable, mindful communications.
Our general DBT skills information website is located here.
If you would like to join this forum, click "Register" in the top right corner of the page and you will be prompted to enter your information and create a user name and password. You will also be required to take some surveys as part of your membership approval process. When staff has approved your registration, you will be notified by the system and allowed to enter the forum.
Thanks for stopping by, and please pardon our dust as we work to build a fantastic, supportive online community!
